About UsBo and Joan are the senior pastors of Metro FamilyLife Church, which they founded in 1997 as the Alabaster Vineyard Christian Fellowship. As the Lord enlarged their vision the name changed to MetroSouth Vineyard Church and then to MFLC. Their vision is to see the generations together for the glory of God. Their desire is to see God’s will being done on earth as it is in heaven. They are committed to praising God, preaching Jesus, and seeing Christians filled, empowered, and gifted by the Holy Spirit. Bo and Joan believe in the Acts 2:41-47 model of being and doing church: studying the Word of God, baptism, the Lord’s Supper, committed fellowship, sharing with one another, praising God, prayer, meeting in homes, and enjoying the Holy Spirit’s manifest presence when they meet. Or, as they like to put it, “seeing people saved, healed, delivered, discipled and sent out to repeat the process.” They have been in the River since 1984 and desire to see renewal and revival in the church and reformation in the world. We, the church, must be renewed in out passion for Jesus and our compassion for the lost, the sick, and those held captive by the enemy. Rather than living in compromise we must live in obedience to all that God has told us to do. Living in such a way as to say the things we hear God saying and do the things we see God doing just as Jesus did. Bo and Joan are again sensing that the harvest is upon us. The Lord, like a great magnet, is drawing people into His Kingdom. The reaper has caught up with the sower and they are working together. God’s people are again thirsting for new wine. The Lord is renewing and refreshing and reviving His people all over the world. God told Bo and Joan to FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS on what He is saying and doing in the world today and to say and do it. God says that Jesus is coming again - SOON. He is not coming for Gomer, the unfaithful one. He is coming for Ruth, the faithful one. The Proverbs 31:10-31 wife. The bride who is strong and courageous; beautiful and faithful, without spot or blemish. The one walking in obedience to Jesus; loving only Him. Much of the church is waiting for Jesus to come and rapture them out of their troubles. Out of their fears and weaknesses. He is not going to. Others are waiting for Him to clean them up and change their cloths so they will be ready for His second coming. He is not going to. A groom does not come to his bride before the wedding to wash her and dress her for the ceremony. No, she and her attendants do this. Like Esther, with the help of the eunuch, a type of the Holy Spirit, we must prepare ourselves for our Bridegroom. Others have lost all hope and have fallen into compromise. Not knowing if they serve God or mammon. Not really knowing if they are saved or lost; having allowed the birds (demons) steal their seed - the gospel of salvation. A few others know that they know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. They work every day on building a personal relationship with the Father, through the Son, in the power of the Holy Spirit. They desire to walk in love and obedience; living holy lives dedicated to Jesus. Praying that His will would be done on earth as it is in heaven. Showing forth their good works. Bo and Joan see their ministry as “blowing the trumpet in Zion”-“sounding the alarm on God's holy hill”- the church. They desire to encourage, support, and help those who are the remnant. Help show the way to those who are waiting on Jesus to rapture them out of their troubles or clean them up for the wedding feast. To call those in compromise out of the world back to Christ. And last, but not least, to call the nations to Jesus - to see them saved, healed, delivered, discipled and sent out to repeat the process. Healing is the children’s bread and our Father desires to heal us completely. Sozo is salvation in the New Testament. It means save, heal, and deliver. God wants to save our spirit from eternal damnation to Himself; save our soul (our mind, will, and emotions) from the power of the devil and his demons - “set the captives free”; and save our body through healings. Bo and Joan not only preach the gospel of salvation, but the gospel of the kingdom. They desire that people find Jesus as their Savior and that they serve Him as Lord. Living in the King’s domain, not the world. Living in the world, but not of the world. Obeying God; living holy lives. Being the bride and the army He has called us to be. Worshipping warriors. Doing all that Jesus did and the more He said we would do. |
